Vyacheslav Serzhanov's biography:

Born September 23, 1962 in Vitebsk, Byelorussia, Vyacheslav Serzhanov began early to receive honours for classical piano. At age 13 he became a laureate of a national music contest in Minsk (Belorussia).

In 1985 he graduated from the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology, and in 1991 – from the Gnesin’s College of Music.
 
In 1991 V. Serzhanov founded his combo to perform some type of improvisation music based on the original themes stylized upon Russian folk music.

During the latter half of the 90’s he was performing with well-known Russian saxophonists A. Pischikov and A. Kozlov. He was featured on Pischikov's releases "Very Cold", "Apples and Pears" (with A. Shilcloper on the French horn), “Some time I lived at sea” and others. During 1993 he was working in Italy like a band pianist. In 1994 he took part in the International Moscow Jazz Festival in duet with A. Kozlov, and in 1995 he performed in the Carnegie Hall with famous Russian singer Tamara Gverdtziteli and the “Arsenal” group.

Then for some years Vyacheslav played in his mainstream trio and the quartet "Version Z" under guitarist I. Zolotukhin. Also he participated in the Russian Jazz Quartet under the direction of bassist-virtuoso and composer Yuri Goloubev, who performed with the Yuri Bashmet Orchestra "Moscow Soloists" for a long time. At the same time Vyacheslav worked as a freelance arranger.

His composer creation can be divided among jazz, contemporary music for symphony and chamber orchestra, piano works, music for movies, cartoons and that for multimedia production. Among his works are the soundtracks to the music film “Autumn Blues” and some animated cartoons including “The Strings” by well-known Russian animator Ivan Maximov. He has one joint performance with a famous sand animation artist Ilana Yahav. His cooperation with the company Altair-TV is especially valuable. It resulted in the whole series of the historical documentary films accompanied by the original symphonic music. Musical "Once in Odessa" was created in collaboration with the "Star-Media film"company.

As arranger Vyacheslav specializes today in the string and symphonic arrangements as well as in that for the jazz Big Band and combo. His orchestrations perform famous Russian singers such as Baskov, Penkin and Valeria. Not long ago he realized the Arkady Arkanov jazz project “Jazz of my love”. Among his recent works with orchestra are also "Bossa-nova festival" in Moscow, Marc Arthur's concert in "Novaya Opera" and the reorchestrated version of the bishop Ilarion's oratorio "St. Matthew Passion". A new album by Lara Fabian was orchestrated and recorded in the fall of 2009. In 2010 - a musical by G. Gladkov "An Ordinary Miracle". The Sochi Olimpics Anthem was recorded with a symphony orchestra. Some original orchestrations of themes from musicals and rock operas for the "Sofia-Symphony" international project and a collection of arrangements of compositions by Oleg Temirov were completed in 2011. In the same year he wrote also a number of orchestrations for TV project "Classics of the genre," presented at the Crocus City Hall. Then he made ​reorchestration of famous Broadway musical "The Sound of Music", the setting was carried out by the Moscow company "Stage Entertainment". In the autumn of 2013 the Moscow Musical Theatre presented the musical stage show "Life is Beautiful". In the same year, a number of arrangements were made for the opera-jazz program of Hibla Gerzmava. The program was performed on the stage of the Stanislavsky and Nemirovich-Danchenko Opera and Ballet Theater, accompanied by Sergey Makeev's Jazz Band, and also in December 2022 on the stage of the Tchaikovsky Concert Hall. In 2014 he completed the orchestration of the next piece of Oleg Temirov's music and conducted the Czech National Orchestra during it's record in Prague. The Album title is "Book".

In the same year Vyacheslav orchestrated 2 programs of the Therr Maitz group for a symphony orchestra. Concerts were held in the Crocus City Hall with musicians from London and at the "Bosco" festival with the participation of the orchestra Yuri Bashmet, as well as in St. Petersburg. In 2015 he recorded the bossa-nova album "Morning of the Carnival" with Alexei Ivaschenko and Irina Bogushevskaya who made translations of these songs into Russian. Concert of the program took place in June in the Tchaikovsky Hall in Moscow. Also he wrote the music and orchestrations for the songs to the musical film "Voices of a big country". In 2017, by order of Cadillac concern, a small program Symphony "A look at the harmony" was written, which reflects the path of the company's development from the point of view of the laws of harmony. The arrangement and recording of a new album by Alexander Alir called "February"was made in 2018. The piano cycle "Dreams and reflections" was recorded at the same time. Next year the album "Narrative" was recorded together with composer Oleg Tim. Also this year the original program of rock songs for the ISB group was made and the program of the Seal Group with the orchestra was prepared. The performance took place at the Barvikha village hall on October 5. Also made several arrangements records for Andrea Bocelli and Dimash Kudaibergen.
