Ancient Egypt: the Newborn Land
Egypt Ministry of Information, Altair-TV, Cultural association “New Acropolis”, 2005

Egypt - meaning secret, mystery - was the name given to the pharaoh’s homeland by the ancient Greeks. Here, as nowhere else, you feel the mystery of this once glorious civilization still hiding in stones, in Gods’ smiles and in the vertical lines of columns. Egyptian myths witness the happy times when Gods lived among the people, the world was governed by the rule of order and fairness, not yet affected by evil, and Maat - the greatest goddess of harmony and order - lived among the people. Sadly, people loose divine protection and blessing to violence, destruction and wars. Gods leave the Earth. The world is abandoned to the mercy of history. Egypt would have to go through the dark epoch of barbarism and tyranny, each time dying and rising from the ashes like the holy Egyptian bird Benu.
